For ongoing crimes – call 112

The police and police stations offer services such as permits, weapons handling, crime reports and issuance of passports. You apply for a passport at the police passport office.

At the police station you can report crimes, apply for passports and national ID-cards. You can also order registry records and apply for permits. Some stations also handle lost property, bikes and weapons permits, and handle any weapons that are handed in. In larger cities like Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö there are always manned police stations, but in small towns there might not always be staff on-call.
