Stripped-down and intimate, with strong presence and emotion — that’s what the audience can expect when the Norrbotten Big Band meets the acclaimed pop duo Sand & Hallander. With trombonist Tilde Schweitzer as arranger, this collaboration is bound to be a success.
The pop duo Sand & Hallander consists of Emmalisa Hallander and Nina Sand, who sing and perform original Swedish songs featuring clever lyrics and flowing melodies. Their debut album Älskar, älskar inte (2023) received glowing reviews from critics and reviewers, and they were compared, among others, to ABBA.
Nina Sand and Emmalisa Hallander found each other in 2015 through their shared sense of humor and love of The Beatles. Since then, they have been best friends and share a passion for writing songs together — often with a playful twinkle in the eye. New songs will be released in the summer of 2025, and in 2026 an exciting collaboration with the Norrbotten Big Band awaits.
“We’ll be offering a mix of completely new songs and some gems from our first album! We have an EP coming out in spring 2026, and of course we want to perform those songs with the Norrbotten Big Band. We’ve also written a lot of music that won’t be included on the EP, both before and after, so we have plenty to choose from,” says Emmalisa Hallander.
The arranger for this exciting concert is Tilde Schweitzer — a trombonist who, through her own big band, has sparked renewed interest in both jazz and the big band format. Tilde regularly performs with the Norrbotten Big Band and on this occasion takes on a more prominent role as arranger.
She is one of Sweden’s youngest and most distinguished big band leaders and arrangers, having written for some of the country’s leading orchestras, including the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bohuslän Big Band, and the Wermland Opera Orchestra, and toured with artists such as Benjamin Ingrosso and David Ritschard.
“I’m really looking forward to this project, as I’ve had the privilege of working with the band as a trombonist in several other productions and getting to know them both personally and musically. To also create a production with two of my closest friends, Nina and Emmalisa — it’s pure goosebumps,” she says.

The concert lasts two hours, including an intermission.
