Be a Hero for Nature!

Mon 16 Jun - Fri 27 Jun

Digital Event

Älvsbyn Municipality is launching this year’s campaign against invasive plant species – and we want you to join us!

From June 16 to 27, Älvsbyn is running a new digital campaign to combat invasive species and protect the local flora. The campaign will take place on Facebook and aims to engage residents by offering a kit that includes an information brochure, a garbage bag, and a gift – a marigold plant. You can pick up your kit at the Citizen Service Center (reception and switchboard) in the municipal building between June 9–27.

Invasive species are plants that do not belong in our local environment and can cause serious harm to the ecosystem. By fighting these species, we can protect native plants and preserve biodiversity.

During the campaign, the municipality will share tips, images, and updates on how the parks department is managing invasive species. Citizens are also encouraged to share their own progress and experiences.

Please note: You may not remove invasive species from someone else’s property without permission. Control efforts should only take place on your own land or municipal land where you have been granted permission to help. If you discover invasive species on private land, please report it to the landowner or at invasivaarter.se so the appropriate action can be taken.

Together, we can protect our local nature and stop the spread of plants that threaten biodiversity.
