What did temporary worker housing for log drivers and forest workers look like? What was life like in these cabins? These are some of the questions that will be explored during this lecture at Storforsen.
Norrbotten Museum’s building antiquarians Erica Duvensjö and Kristin Lång will take you on a journey through the history of log driving and forestry, based on the log driver and forest worker cabins featured in the Forestry and Log Driving Museum at Storforsen.
The lecture is part of the project “Norrbotten Building Conservation” at Älvsby Folk High School — a three-year initiative aimed at increasing knowledge about Norrbotten’s building culture and, in doing so, strengthening the appreciation of the region’s architectural character during renovation work.
The lecture is free of charge, and no registration is required.
